Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition is a powerful tool for cleaning up problematic and historic recordings directly on your PC. It helps you remove or significantly reduce unwanted audio, maintaining authentic sound with almost no degradation of its original quality.

Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition is an ideal enhancement for audio editing and CD recording programs, especially, if you are interested in transferring all your treasures from tape, vinyl or even shellac records to CD e.g. using TerraTec's phono PreAmp.

Sound Rescue™ TerraTec Edition comes with a built-in wav recorder for transferring the audio material onto your PC very easily. With the pause function you can record both sides of a LP or tape into one big wav file. Especially for owners of the DMX 6fire soundcard a digital RIAA filter has also been integrated. This equalization filter is needed to be able to connect a turntable directly to the phono input of the soundcard without an external amplifier. After cleaning your recorded sound, you can set it to the maximum volume with the normalize function. Using the automatic detection of the beginning of the next track, you can easily split the wav file into single tracks. These tracks are automatically added to a CD track list. If you finished splitting, you simply press the 'CD' button and your favorite CD Burning software pops up with the track list already loaded. One more click and your CD is ready!
A demo version of Sound Rescue™ TerraTec Edition is available for download here. You can install it without affecting the installation of Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition. Please note that saving to the hard disk has been disabled. Furthermore the recording time has been limited to 2 minutes.

Q:

How can I record?

A:

The TerraTec Edition of Sound Laundry™ was not designed to record audio data. Please refer to the software on the supplied CD or contact the TerraTec Support at: www.terratec.net. If you look for an easy-to-use wave recorder take a look at AlgoRec™ TerraTec Edition or upgrade to Sound Rescue™ TerraTec Edition.

Q:

After starting Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition an error message pops up: "Please reinstall Sound Laundry TerraTec Edition using the correct serial number AND NAME from your registration email."

A:

Either you entered your old serial number or the new serial number without the name during the installation process. Please reinstall Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition again using exactly the registration data you received in the registration email, that means <name> and <serial number>.

Q:

Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition crashes on startup.

A:

This problem only occurs on some Pentium 4 systems with Hyper Threading enabled and does not occur in the current version anymore. Please register here to receive the latest version.

Q:

When trying to store a file an error message appears: "Insufficient disk space", although there is plenty of space on the hard disk?

A:

This problem is solved in the latest version which you can download when you register here.
Q:

What audio formats are supported?

A:

Only *.wav files (Windows PCM *.wav) which are red-book compatible can be loaded. That means that they have to be recorded wit 16 Bit resolution and 44.1kHz sampling rate. If you use the recorder AlgoRec™ TerraTec Edition  the generated *.wav files will automatically be red book compatible. The red-book standard is supported by all CD Burning programs.

Q:

What are *.awf files good for?

A:

For every *.wav file loaded into Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition a corresponding *.awf file is automatically created if it doesn't already exist. This helps to speed up the waveform display enormously, because the *.awf file contains the graphical waveform data. To save disk space you can safely delete the *.awf files.
 
Tips & Tricks top

Saving *.wav files
 Please do not save your recordings in the installation directory of Sound Laundry™ TerraTec Edition but choose a different one e.g. My LPs, because the whole directory will be deleted during a deinstallation or a reinstallation.

Resetting the fader
1. The fader for bass/volume/treble can be reset to the middle position by double-clicking on them.
2. By double-clicking on the fader of the DeScratcher and the DeNoiser they can be set to 0.0 (turned off).
3. To omit the influence of all faders and settings check the box bypass. Then you'll be able to listen to the original audio material.
